'Knowledge' is one of the most fundamental discussions in philosophy, and many have attempted to contemplate on its reality and quality. Knowledge is in its absolute sense an axiomatic conception. However, the Islamic philosophers' approach to its reality is different. Some consider it a negative notion and some others consider it the form imprinted in the intellect, and still some others regard it of relation category. Considering his specific foundations including the principality of existence, Mulla Sadra regards the reality of knowledge as an existential and intuitive affair and, with this approach, regards knowledge of the genus of existence and out of the realm of the essential notion. The present study uses a descriptive-analytical method and attempts to offer a vivid explanation of reality of knowledge. To do so, first we have investigated the reality of knowledge from the viewpoint of philosophers before Mulla Sadra, and then, we have explained Mulla Sadra's view regarding the intuitive reality of knowledge. In the second part of the article, we have investigated the existential effects of the intuitive nature of knowledge. Among the results are the followings: gradation of knowledge, exclusivity of intuitive knowledge, objectivity of the knower and the known, and the knowledge of the inanimate bodies.
