Abstract
The Islamic philosophers have accepted the idea of steamy spirit in the form of an axiom and as an instance in philosophical psychology for proving their own philosophical view, i.e. the intermediary role of steamy spirit between the abstract soul and the material body. The steamy spirit is the thinnest and the most delicate fluid matter in one’s body, produced from the tender humors in the body. Islamic philosophers refer to the steamy spirit when they speak of the body inclined to origination of the soul and immediately the place for operations of the soul. Since the existence of the steamy spirit as an axiom and specifying the related instances are accepted in proving the philosophers’ philosophical theory, omission or nullifying the steamy spirit cannot impair the main philosophical theory and the way the soul and the body are combined.
