The goal of this paper is to analysis and study doctrines of Mulla Sadra, Allameh tabataba’I, Imam Khomieni and martyr Mutahhari about originality (primacy/principality) of existence and inferiority of essence in details to distinguish their differences. There are a couple of vague phrases about essence in Sadra’s corpus; but the phrase in which reality consisted of existence (primarily and substantially) and essence (secondarily and accidentally) is more fittable to sadra’s philosophic system. However, for Allameh Tabataba’I, Imam Khomieni and martyr Mutahhari reality are built in only existence, no room for essence. Essence is demarcations, negations, and essential nothingness of mental beings. Therefore, the objective reality of essence is those negations and essential nothingness, which is seen as a secondary state, comparable to superadded nothingness. On the other hand, in both approaches, theory of originality of existence would be self-evident, without any need to be proved; thus, the proofs for it are purely pedagogical. Futhuremore, Allameh Tabataba’I, Imam Khomieni and Mutahhari are more plausible, as far as, the statement of “existence is the original” is analytical for them.
