The Seven Subtleties (Laṭāʾif al-Sabʿa), as levels of the human soul, reflect the ontological degrees of the cosmic order.
This reflection reveals a multilayered relationship between human dimensions and the levels of existence, addressed through theoretical frameworks such as identity and distinctness (ʿayniyya wa ghayriyyat), reality and subtlety (ḥaqīqa wa raqīqa), simplicity and differentiation (ijmāl wa tafṣīl), and togetherness (maʿiyya).
In theoretical mysticism, grounded in the doctrine of the Unity of Existential Reality (waḥdat al-wujūd), all existential determinations are manifestations of a single Reality. Their relations are interpreted through differentiated encompassment (tamayyuz-i iḥāṭī).
In Transcendent Philosophy (ḥikmat al-mutaʿāliyah), the principles of gradation of existence (tashkīk al-wujūd) and the simple reality is all things (al-basīṭ al-ḥaqīqa kull al-ashyāʾ) offer a philosophical basis for understanding how multiplicity emerges from unity.
This study, analyzing the perspectives of Ibn ʿArabī, Mullā Ṣadrā, and others, emphasizes that the concept of ḥaml al-ḥaqīqa wa al-raqīqa (carrying of reality and subtlety) is key to understanding the link between the soul's levels and the metaphysical order.
Additionally, the concepts of proximity (qurb) and annihilation (fanāʾ) are examined in relation to the doctrine of divine vicegerency (khilāfat ilāhiyya).
The research shows that such relationships—including identity, differentiation, subtlety, mirroring (mirʾātiyya), and sustaining power (qayyūmiyya)—apply not only to the created levels like soul, heart, intellect, and spirit but also extend to higher divine determinations: sirr, khafī, and akhfā.
Ultimately, the role of the Perfect Human (al-insān al-kāmil) as the intermediary of divine grace is shown to be central to integrating the human and cosmic structures.
