The interpretations and meanings presented for Nafs al-Amr arise from an epistemological problem in explaining the truth of cases that do not have actual objective or mental bases, and therefore different meanings for reality and Nafs al-Amr corresponding to them have come up. The late Allameh Tabatabayi has presented a different interpretation of Nafs al-Amr based on his epistemological and ontological foundations, which is one of the new interpretations in this field. Among the strengths of Allameh Tabatabayi's interpretation, in addition to solving the mentioned problem, Paying attention to the ontological foundations of the self is after the originality of existence and complete compliance with it. According to all of Allameh's opinions (based on the beginning, end and commentaries of Asfar) Nafs al-Amr means existence and evidence in its broadest sense. This absolute proof includes three categories of proof: first: proof in things that are actually realized; like existence itself; Second: Proof in matters that are considered as the primary validity of reason, such as essences; Third: Proof in matters that are given credit for by the secondary credit of reason; Like second thoughts.
